The Instructor

My name is Nic Thurman

I'm a classical painter shaped by years of mentorship—from foundational teachings with Jeremy Caniglia starting in 2014 to the profound lessons in kitsch painting under Odd Nerdrum from 2018 to 2021.

Marked by a quest for the timeless masterpiece, my journey has taken my work from New York to Norway. Now I'm here to share all the knowledge I’ve gained along the way.

I’ll be offering all the portrait painting insights and techniques I learned firsthand on my journey - so you can quickly enhance your skills in a welcoming and enriching environment - and jump past the common road blocks, pitfalls, and frustrations that come with classical portrait painting.

His technical and philosophical approaches to learning the craft of oil painting provide a more in depth and contemplative perspective on your work. I'm very happy with how my work is progressing and would recommend learning with Nic to anyone."

  • Includes early access to the entire Block in Bootcamp course when it's released, exclusive VIP live Q&As & Cohorts, access to the VIP community chat, and extra references & downloads.

The Apelles Palette with Melissa Calabria Course ($30 Value)

  • This course is hosted by my highly skilled colleague Melissa Calabria. In this course she demonstrates how to use the full rainbow of the 4 color Apelles Palette for lifelike skin colors while painting on a self portrait.

Early VIP Access to My New Painting Program ($3,000+ Value)

  • This program covers all the way from the basics of drawing, to life size narrative oil painting compositions. It currently has over 140 videos.

  • Starting in March I will be testing with a select group which you will be invited to join. The goal is to ensure the program is: simple, effortless to use, actionable, and answers every "road block" or small problem that prevents painters from improving.

  • Regardless of your skill level I want to ensure that the program addresses any question or issues you are faced with on your painting journey.

  • You will be a part of the live cohort group who interacts with me directly to get all of your questions answered - I will be filling in learning gaps and altering the program so that it's tailored just for you!

  • The learning bundle plus VIP access for 12 months would normally be over $3,000. That's truly a conservative price because it includes so many additional opportunities for personalized feedback that I don't normally offer. Normally I charge $150 plus $100 per hour for consultation calls. In this case you'll be getting twelve 1-on-1 calls with me which would normally cost $1,800. Plus you'll get VIP access to the course which would cost a minimum of $600. Not to mention all of the additional group calls and personalization where you'll have opportunities for direct feedback from me - easily an additional $600.

Access to the "Rembrandt Bootcamp" course ($300 Value)

  • In this course, I analyze Rembrandt's paintings in depth and cover the key techniques and effects with real time demonstration. It includes 13 videos, easily totaling well over 4 hours of course material.

  • I'll be honest, the course is not a masterpiece. However, I do think there is still a tremendous amount of value in the information covered!

  • Plus, I will be revitalizing the course to include a complete Rembrandt copy demonstration and improve all of the demonstrations. With lifetime access you will receive all of the future revisions!

100% Money-Back Guarantee

  • I'm dedicated to delivering unparalleled value and transformative learning experiences. If you attend the workshop, actively engage with the courses offered as bonuses, and feel that you haven't gained any value, I promise to offer you a 100% refund.

  • This guarantee is my way of ensuring that your investment in yourself and your craft is completely risk-free. I believe in the quality and impact of my teaching so much that I'm willing to stand by it with this promise. Your growth and satisfaction are my top priorities.
